Multi tasking! Aargh!
Today was a home day, the sun was shinning so time was spent in the garden. At times I felt panicky as both children ask so much of me and at the same time and it is so hard to meet each of their needs. This can make me feel really irritable and burnt out. Mia can find it hard when I give Fred attention and can sabotage what we r doing, Fred is able to be patient generally. Hopefully it will not be long until Mia can wait easily and busy herself if I am doing something with Fred. We transferred our caterpillars who are in their cocoons into their net which led to us using a tape measure and learn about cm s and inches. Fred then measured us and things for about half n hour whilst I did jigsaws with Mia, then I tried to do stickers with both at same time after batting off constant requests to chase and push high on swing! David B came over and did stickers with Fred whilst I pushed Mia on the swing and read her stories from her blossom magazine. Then we all had lunch. Was so lovely to c how sociable Mia and Fred are becoming, both wanting to show David things and play with him. after this I played peppa pig and friends with Mia whilst playing fighting with light sabres with Fred! Somehow I was able to flit between games well enough for the kids not getting frustrated by not having my undivided attention! Then a breather with the tv and cuddles on the sofa-phew! Followed by card making for dad for Father's Day and quick trip to sainsburys for a gift. It would have been a quick trip but Mia took a fancy to a peppa pig watch and would not put it back which led to us waiting at the exit of the shop for about 20 mins trying to explain I didn't have the money to buy it and she can't leave shop with it if it hasn't been paid for. It ended badly with me and security man having to prise It out of her hands...did not feel good but felt like we were going to be there hours waiting for her to put it down on her own volition!

It's such hard work when they are small - but it does get easier. It is great when they learn to read! And according to David Cameron all this is not `work'!!
ReplyDeletePhew that's great to hear, the last few days have been really intense with both bubs wanting my attention, maybe they are a bit off colour! Lots of love xxx
