Fossils and so much more!

Again I am amazed at how much you can fit into a day! We were up early and painting by half eight! The kids were keen to continue painting their models. Again lots of colour mixing done by Fred!
Then we sat and read our dinosaur book, learning about fossils

We then looked on you tube and watched some documentarys about dinosaurs and also clips of reconstruction of the meteorite which is hypothesised to have hit the sea near Mexico and wiped out the dinosaurs. Fascinating, Fred in particular was hooked! Then snuggles on the sofa with a snack and story books. A story led us to talking about the Titanic, I told them the story of the ship and we were back on You Tube watching a children's short film about the boat, Fred found it quite moving..discussions led to researching on you tube ice bergs and then what fish live in Arctic waters! The kids were enthralled by a nature document showing killer whales and a giant octopus!

Our friends arrived and we talked fossils and got out our ice fossils. The kids experimented with hot and cold water to melt the ice to free the fossiled toy animal inside.
Then the kids had a go at making their own fossils with salt dough which we then cooked in the oven.

There was great excitement at the idea of tricking daddy when he comes home and telling him we found the fossils in the garden!

This afternoon we made Star Wars world play scene on the Tuff spot...

Fit in cooking meals, trying to keep the house slightly respectable, cleaning a climbing frame in the garden to be picked up by friends, going to chemist for grandma and dropping medicine to her and attempting to converse with my husband....I AM POOPED.COM!
