Today we have had a visit to the midwife which the kids found fascinating and a day of playing games! We played Orchard games, we have quite a collection now! Here they are (in first photo) playing a literacy game of rhyming words and making up funny sentences! Really fun! We played "spottydogs" a numeracy adding game, tell the time game (both are unable to tell time at present) and "pop to the shop" -all about money. We played each game ALOT!!!!!
I was amazed to see Freddie recognise the coins and add them up e.g for 70p he collected together a 50p and a 20p!!! £1 he got 2x50ps! I asked him how he had worked this out and he said flippantly "dad showed me last night when we played whilst you were at work"! This was such a boost to me and I remembered trying to "teach" Fred the coins a few months back and he glazed over and was totally disinterested, so I gave up. I love how this shows that through playing a game that he enjoys he has learnt what he needs and wants to learn...obviously credit to the husband too!
