Felt Christmas tree!

This morning we set about making our felt Christmas tree. It involved a lot of cutting and drawing round stencils and use of glue gun. We really enjoyed it ( Christmas songs were playing on the radio in the background!)
It took a good few hours and here is the finished tree! The kids can re decorate it by moving the felt decorations round as they wish. We attached it to the glass using velcro. Worked brilliantly.
The cutting and drawing was a little advanced for little Mia so I set her up a sensory arctic scene to play with whilst me and Fred worked. We made the sea with salt, food dye and glitter and used polystyrene from packaging as the Arctic snow. Mia played with her Octonaughts in the scene...giving us regular updates of their adventures!
This afternoon we did some Maths workbooks looking at shapes and sizes and then played a fantastic game called Rhyme Robbers which teaches rhyming! Kids LOVED it so much, got very competitive! Orchard Farm games are the best!
Freddie and Mia also practiced some writing...

Mia's.....
Freddie's.....
Fred has a little cold so we snuggled at home today, it was just what we all needed....
