Day at home
Today our HE social group was cancelled due to illness so we had an unplanned day at home. The sun was shinning and I was really in need of a day of just us, we have been so busy recently. At first I felt a bit unsure as I hadn't planned any activity so was not sure how we would fill our day (obviously I would have no problem filling the day with laundry and cleaning and cooking! But the kids wouldnt be having any of that!) it was interesting to see how learning just happens spontaneously. Freddie played on Reading Eggs and the new Usborne reading programme, Mia played with play doh, cutting it with scissors into small pieces and making cakes in the morning. Then we played outside in the sun with the hose and with the tuff spot filled with water. They chased each other, played with plastic animals in the water and used droppers to pull up and squirt out water. Then Freddie pulled up carrots and both cut the stems with scissors and cleaned them with brushes...and ate loads! We did some beading out in the sun, Mia is enjoying making necklaces, and then we went for a walk up to the post office. So lots of fine and gross motor skill work. To top of our day Daddy came home early.
