Phonics and craft group

This morning we started looking at our Jolly Phonics kit...we have some phonics cards and a DVD. We looked at the letters S A T D M. They both know their letters so we looked at merging the sounds to make words, we made Sat, Sam, Mat, and they grasped the concept of merging the sounds. We watched a bit of the DVD too which was really cute. Mia particularly liked it.

Then we went outside with chalk and drew some S snakes! And other letters and pictures.

Then we made a start on digging our Frog Pond....

Then after lunch we headed over to our friends for our craft lesson.

Today we collected autumn leaves and treasures to make a big autumn tree. Freddie has been looking forward to the session and he was engrossed from the start. He is able to focus and concentrate on activities for a really long time now and he was engaged in the activity from start to finish. Mia chose to play for the first part of the session but wanted to join in the painting at the end.

Collecting goodies in the garden...
Looking at everything we collected...

Then we started making our tree..

Little Mia was busy "cooking" us snacks...
The finished tree...

The kids were really pleased with the end result!
Then there was lots of playing and snack time...
I dropped L, our teacher, to the train station with Mia and Freddie chose to stay playing at J' s house. Me and Mia stopped on the way home and picked lots of blackberry s for everyone. She was so sweet and said " mummy, I love being with you" it actually hurt my heart because I realised that she was meaning she likes being with me on her own, and I realised that I never have time with her on my own. I am going to try and spend more 1 to 1 time with her as I really feel she needs it at the moment. I think I just expect her to be like Freddie and I forget she is 2 years younger and actually needs more "babying".
We went back to our confident boy who was having a whale of a time! They were all doing drawing when we arrived back and Mia soon got stuck in too.
Wonderful day.......wonderful life, feel so blessed.
