It was a great activity and I thought it could also be used when learning sight words, they could paint to reveal sight words...
We read more about Dinosaurs whilst having snacks and then the doorbell rang! Great excitement as grandad has returned from his time in Germany! We all put our shoes on and headed straight to the park together for fun and catch ups! Kids enjoyed the quiet park now all the children back at school. Mia rode her bike there and is slowly gaining confidence. Lots of blackberry picking was done en route! Freddie enlightened Grandad with many dinosaur facts along the way!
After lunch we headed to our first craft lesson. J has organised this and it is held at her house hopefully now on a weekly basis. It was wonderful! Freddie very engaged straight away, Mia needing mummy time and time to settle into it! I had left something at home so I left Freddie working away and drove back to mine with Mia. When we returned, Freddie was hard at work and Mia was ready to join in.
The end products....
Freddie's are the blue and green ones on the left and Mia s are the blue and pink on the far right. Both very chuffed with their creations!
After the lesson the kids played. They have a lovely dynamic amongst the 4, harmonious and very equal- they all play together, no gender or age divide. There was lots of running about, climbing, bouncing on the trampoline, eating in the poly tunnel, and I over heard such lovely imaginative games going on! We also had lots of fun with daisy the dog!
Freddie found lots of special fossil like stones which he brought home and we also came home with 2 spaghetti squashes yum! We had one for tea, delicious! I literally had to drag the kids home, it's so hard to leave when they are having so much fun! We got home at 6.45pm! On the way home Freddie said "can we have art lessons with that teacher again mummy? It was so much fun!" Bless!
When we arrived home there was a parcel waiting from the book people. My grandma had very kindly bought us lots of wonderful educational books....I was really touched by her support. She is 85 and home ed must be a strange concept to grasp for her yet she gives her support in the way she can and I really appreciate that!
